What is a TCU?

A TCU — Tomosu Consumption Unit — is one unit of reliability work. It is how we count what the platform actually does for you, so you are never billed for people or agents sitting idle.

What uses TCUs	Scanning a repository to build its reliability score. Keeping that score current as your code changes. Checking a pull request. Answering a question from one of your AI agents. Validating a change in production, or investigating an incident.
What never uses TCUs	Adding a developer. Adding an AI agent. Connecting another repository on a paid plan. Viewing dashboards or reports. And any job that fails or has to be run twice — that one is on us.
How much is a TCU	Everyday work is small: checking a pull request or answering an agent’s question costs about a TCU. Bigger jobs cost more: the first full scan of a repository is the largest single thing you will do, and a deep incident investigation is the largest recurring one.
Your TCUs are pooled	One shared balance for your whole organization. Nothing is reserved per person, per team, per repository or per agent, so a busy week on one team simply draws from the same pool.
Bigger repo, fewer TCUs than you’d think	Tomosu reads the code that carries reliability risk rather than everything you own, so a large repository costs far less to govern than its size suggests. And keeping a score current costs a fraction of building it in the first place.

Can we use the free plan on a private repository?

Yes. Free covers one repository, public or private, so you can try Tomosu on the code you actually ship instead of a sample. Your code is never used to train models.

How many users are included?

All of them. Every plan, including Free, includes unlimited developers and unlimited AI agents. We do not sell seats.

What exactly are you charging for?

The work Tomosu does for you, counted in TCUs: scanning a repository to build its reliability score, keeping that score current, checking a pull request, answering an agent’s question, and validating a change in production. Adding people, agents or repositories costs nothing. Your TCUs are pooled across your whole organization — see what a TCU is.

We have a huge monorepo. Does that burn a lot of TCUs?

Much less than you would expect. Tomosu does not read your repository end to end — it picks out the code that carries reliability risk. And the first scan is the expensive one; keeping it up to date afterwards costs a fraction of that.

What happens if we run out of TCUs?

Nothing stops working. We tell you when you reach 80% of your TCUs, and anything beyond your pool is either billed at the rate in your contract or added as a top-up block — your choice, agreed up front. No surprise invoices.

Do you charge for failed or repeated analysis?

No. If a job fails or we have to run it again, that is on us. You only pay for analysis that gave you a result.

Can we stay on the free plan indefinitely?

Yes. Free is genuinely free, with no time limit and no card. It covers one repository and a monthly allowance. More repositories and production features are on the paid plans.

Why is Govern “from” a price?

Govern starts at $150k a year and covers your whole organization. The final number depends on how much code you have and whether you want reliability enforced in production as well as before merge. We will give you a real number on the first call, and it will not go up when you add engineers or agents.
